Windsor MP, Jack Rankin has concluded his visits to various schools across his constituency, aimed at promoting UK Parliament Week 2024, and teaching children about the workings of Britain’s democracy.
Twenty-six activities have taken place in the Windsor constituency this week, spreading the word about what Parliament is, what it does and how children can get involved.
Jack kicked off the week on Sunday 17th November, at Langley Academy, where he took part in Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh UK’s election workshop, which involved an engaging debate between several of the children attending.
On Monday, he visited Cheapside Primary School, meeting with the School Council, who gave him a tour of the school before taking questions from pupils during a special assembly.
Next, he paid Papplewick School in Ascot a visit on Wednesday for a Q&A grilling, with some fantastic questions ranging from what an MP does day-to-day to MPs’ security.
Jack rounded off the week today at Pippins Primary School, where he spoke to three different year groups and answered questions from pupils.
Commenting, Jack said:
“I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting schools across the lengths and breadths of my Windsor constituency this week as part of UK Parliament Week.
“It has been absolutely brilliant to see so many pupils positively engaging with activities about our political system and thank you to all who asked me some fantastic questions throughout the week during my Q&A sessions.
“Democracy is alive and well amongst our next generation.”
